Disinformation in social media: Oireachtas member meeting with Frances Haugen

On Tuesday, March 22nd 2022, Oireachtas members met with Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen to discuss potential remedies and actions that could address social media disinformation.

Elizabeth Farries, assistant professor at UCD School of Information & Communication Studies and Director of the University’s masters in Digital Policy, attended the meeting alongside master student Yee Thu Aung that offered a detailed brief about the platformed disinformation harms in Myanmar.
