Centre’s submission to the Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media on disinformation

11 April 2024. Centre directors Dr Liz Farries and Professor Eugenia Siapera have provided a written submission on the topic of the State’s response to online disinformation and media/digital literacy, including social media and fake news to the Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media. They highlight how disinformation is currently understood in scientific literature, outline current responses to disinformation and offer five recommendations to the Joint Committee for consideration.
