Expert Letter to Oireachtas Cabinet Members: Policing FRT, 20 June 2022
In relation to recent proposals for policing facial recognition technology in Ireland, experts from UCD, ICCL, Maynooth and UCC sent the following document to Oireachtas cabinet members today, June 20, 2022. We state that concerns regarding mass surveillance, bias and discrimination, data protection risks, and democratic regulatory processes are too significant to proceed.
