In January 2023, the University Nations University Institute in Macau published a report to which our Centre member Arthit Suriyawongkul contributed.

The report is a multi-country, multi-stakeholder analysis project in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. For this, interviews and workshops were conducted in each country to better understand the state of AI policy, the perceived risks to women of AI, and possible policy solutions in the different countries. Possible improvements were listed in the following four categories: 1. Development of AI societal impacts committee or task force; 2. Creation of gender and AI guideline; 3. AI safety standardisation across the region; 4. Investments in women in AI networks, training, company development and policy participation.
