Courtney is a postdoctoral research fellow at the School of Information and Communication Studies, working on the EU-funded DiversiFAIR project. She is currently developing a chat model using a custom Large Language Model (LLM) that is trained on global AI regulations. She earned her PhD in Explainable AI from UCD in 2024. Her research interests include Explainable AI and the ethical implications of AI systems. She is particularly focused on domain expertise, natural language processing, and addressing issues of bias and fairness in AI.
