The overarching theme of the day addressed the question of public service media. With Professor Siapera discussing the questions of ‘how are Public Service Media and Public Service Content Providers prioritising practices and policies that accelerate diversity, equity and inclusion in the structure of their organisations and in the content that they create?’ You can watch the discussion here. The Future of Media Commission was set up by the Government in September 2020 to examine the future of the media in Ireland. This includes Ireland’s public service broadcasters, commercial broadcasters, print and online media platforms. There are regular, public thematic dialogues by experts in each area.
