Chapter: Mainstreaming the Far-Right: Deplatforming, Content Moderation and Far-Right Presence on Mainstream Social Media Sites, Dr Sarah Anne Dunne and Prof Eugenia Siapera

10.10.24. Centre members Dr Sarah Anne Dunne and Prof Eugenia Siapera have just published a chapter entitled “Mainstreaming the Far-Right: Deplatforming, Content Moderation and Far-Right Presence on Mainstream Social Media Sites.” The work highlights the movement of far-right material across alt-tech and mainstream social media sites in spite of hate speech policies, focusing on Irish case studies and examples of anti-LGBTQ+ bookshop and library protests.

The article is part of a larger ambitious three volume project, Online Hate Speech Trilogy, edited by Branco Di Fatima. All three volumes are open access and freely available to download at Labcom Book.
